The group exhibition A(r)tlantis, showcases artworks of 10 artists working in different manner and media but bound by the same interest in nature and our relationship with it – those artists are thinking about the ecological crisis, envisioning possible future of mankind, as well as depicting artist’s feelings and position regarding these issues. The audience will have the opportunity to see how young artists like Nina Ivanovic, Marija Avramovic, Adrijenn Ujhazi, Milija Cpajak, Anastasija Pavic, Dunja Djolovic, Marina Milanovic, Kemil Bektesi, Nebojsa Yamasaki Vukelic and Lazar Stojic feel and think about these topics.
It is with great pleasure that we invite you to A(r)tlantis exhibition opening, to be held at Novembar Gallery on Thursday, February 17, 2022, at 6 pm.
The group exhibition A(r)tlantis, showcases artworks of 10 artist working in different manner and media, but bound by the same interest in nature and our relationship with it – those artists are thinking about ecological crisis, envisioning possible future of mankind, as well as depicting artist’s feelings and position regarding these issues. The audience will have opportunity to see how young artists like Nina Ivanovic, Marija Avramovic, Adrijenn Ujhazi, Milija Cpajak, Anastasija Pavic, Dunja Djolovic, Marina Milanovic, Kemil Bektesi, Nebojsa Yamasaki Vukelic and Lazar Stojic feel and think about these topics.
The works on this exhibition create a refuge, through an attempt to ask (and then answer) the question of the ecological crisis and the attitude towards the environment, through the prism of art as the social commentary on these topics. On the other hand, they represent a kind of review of the feelings of artists on the current state of the environment and natural resources, how these circumstances change us and what they prepare us for in the future. In the end, these works partially reexamine themselves, setting themselves the task of answering something much more challenging - the question of where (and whether), in general, environmentally conscious art is possible? Can we learn to live with other beings, taking into account the extent of the damage we leave behind, and in the knowledge that we are not alone in this a strong enough consolation? – It is said in the exhibition catalogue.
The exhibition will run from February 17 to March 13, 2022.
