DRIVE McCANN – Merging the Best of Two Worlds

Drive and McCann join forces to become Norway's foremost at Creative Retail Marketing. The new agency aims to be a top-five agency by 2020.

We announce the next evolution of our service offering in Norway. Changes in global landscapes, as well as locally, show that seamless structure, integrating offering and more simplified organization is what clients need to have consistent voice across all media.

Over the last 1.5 years, we have brought two of our businesses, McCann Oslo and DRIVE, increasingly together to deliver our mutual clients such as Apotek 1, Maxbo, Peugeot/ Citroën etc. better services. We now believe this is how we operate at our best and feedback from clients confirm it.

We are formally bringing these agencies together, under one team, one P&L, and one name: Drive McCann.

By merging Drive and McCann, we cultivate what we do best – marry creative excellence and seamless delivery to create powerful and effective solutions.

“Clients operate in an incredibly busy and increasingly complex world. Their agency relationship shouldn’t add to it. We have worked at our best together on delivering ideas and executing them seamlessly,” said Richard Bonner-Davies, president of McCann Nordic, and emphasized that “our clients appreciate this. Simplifying our process to serve them better makes sense business wise – both for them and us.”

With more than 25 years of experience in agency operations and production, Bjørn Sloreby will lead Drive McCann agency as CEO.

"DRIVE has succeeded in structure, methodology, efficiency, insight, and SoMe tailored to retail customers, while McCann is the ultimate in creativity and strategy," Sloreby says. "We will take the best of both environments and create a larger, stronger and smarter agency with broader range of services and stronger identity. I am incredibly proud of the expertise we have in the group and in the new agency, and I look forward to building a new and exciting agency with all these skilled people. "

He promises that DRIVE McCann will work to fill the prize pool, but not at all costs: "We would rather win awards that confirm that our clients succeed with their business. In a slightly self-centred industry, we will try to be different,” says Sloreby.

Drive McCann represents a team of 50+ experts with a focus on building portfolio of brands across all media, all the way to retail activation.
